Terms and Conditions of Volunteering
We are excited you are considering volunteering as a Course Writer. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in achieving our transformative mission. Please review the following terms and conditions related to contributing your time and talents as a volunteer Course Writer:
Work Product
The Kerygma Educational System greatly appreciates any course materials, content, outlines, slides, graphics, texts, and other work product you produce while volunteering as a Course Writer (your “Contributions”). As a condition of volunteering, you agree that your Contributions shall be considered “works made for hire” specially ordered and commissioned by The Kerygma Educational System under the U.S. Copyright Act. You further assign any right and intellectual property interests you may have in your Contributions directly to The Kerygma Educational System. These terms are necessary for us to effectively use, edit, reproduce, and include your Contributions within our educational platform and courses.
Intellectual Property
Any and all course outlines, syllabi, lectures, presentation slides, assessments, illustrations, recordings, writings, newsletters, infographics, website content, online forum posts, recordings, software, applications, research, data, discoveries, inventions, creations, or any other works of authorship created by or contributed by you while volunteering with The Kerygma Educational System relating to educational course development or any other products, programs or services in the Company’s industry (collectively referred to as “Contributions”) shall be deemed as “work made for hire” specially ordered and commissioned by the Company according to the copyright laws of the United States and you explicitly waive all legal and moral rights in such Contributions.
Without prejudice to the foregoing paragraph, in the event any such Contributions, or any part thereof, does not qualify as work made for hire, you hereby assign all rights, title, and interest in and to the Contributions, including all copyrights, patent rights and other proprietary rights thereto, to the Company. You agree to cooperate with and reasonably assist the Company to apply for, register, prosecute and obtain patents, copyrights, trademarks, service marks, assignments and other protections relating to the Contributions. Such cooperation shall include you providing specifications, technical writing, diagrams, flow charts and any other materials necessary to document, obtain and perfect such intellectual property rights and protections. You acknowledge Company shall have the full, unfettered right to revise, modify, update, excerpt, abridge, expand, adapt or otherwise alter or electronically publish, perform or display the Contributions. No additional compensation shall be owed for the Company’s use or assignment of any intellectual property rights you may hold in the Contributions which are being voluntarily transferred, assigned and waived through your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions as a volunteer for the Company in furtherance of its educational mission.
No Compensation
You acknowledge that your time and services as a volunteer Course Writer are wholly donated to assist our mission. You will receive no compensation or payments for your Contributions or any intellectual property rights therein, which you are voluntarily transferring to The Kerygma Educational System under these Terms and Conditions. We trust joining our team offers immense intrinsic and other rewards aligned with our shared passion for education and ministry.
Confidentiality
You agree to hold strictly confidential, and not disclose without our prior written consent, any and all organization confidential information including but not limited to student data and records, course materials, financial information, strategic plans or marketing strategies which you may access during volunteer outings.
Code of Conduct
You agree to abide by all values and policies of The Kerygma Educational System while volunteering. This includes not committing discrimination, harassment, violence, bullying, illegal activities, or misuse of organizational resources.
Termination
Either party may terminate this relationship at any time and for any reason with 48 hours’ prior written notice to the other party. Upon termination, you will promptly return any organization issued property or assets in your possession.
Acceptance of Terms
By submitting an application for the volunteer Course Writer position at The Kerygma Educational System, you accept all policies outlined in these Terms and Conditions. You agree to comply with and be subject to the standards, terms, and provisions contained or referenced herein, which are subject to change at any time at the Company’s sole discretion. The Company will endeavor to notify you when terms have been substantively updated. However your continuation of volunteering subsequent to any modifications shall constitute your consent to the changed terms. It is your responsibility to periodically review these Terms and Conditions.
Revisions and Amendments
The Kerygma Educational System reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to revise and amend these Terms and Conditions related to the Course Writer volunteer position from time to time without advance notice. All amended terms are effective immediately when we post them and apply to your continued participation in voluntary activities from that date forward.
